Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for a role where you can use your creative thinking and strong people skills to achieve a food secure Waikato?
 

We're on a journey to understand how we might create a region where all whānau have access to healthy kai, and are seeking a motivated Project Activator to activate the Waikato Kai Project.

The Waikato Kai Project is an exciting and evolving project, providing an opportunity for the right candidate to shape and define the best pathway in creating systemic change, through collaboration.

As our Project Activator, you will have a passion for kai security/resilience, the ability to connect easily with a diverse range of people and hold a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori.

You will be confident in your Project Management skills, have a background in social innovation/community-led projects and a working understanding of tools such as Design and Systems Thinking. 

The food system can be a complex environment with many facets, this spikes your curiosity and desire to apply your research skills to bring clarity and understanding. 

You're renowned for your facilitation skills and have the ability to build trust with others. 

You will be working across a diverse range of organisations within the Waikato food system and therefore thrive off working with different people, connecting opportunities and supporting seedlings of ideas to grow.

As the Waikato Kai Challenge is an evolving project you will also be comfortable with complexity and open to the opportunity to do things a little differently to the 'norm'.
 

As part of the role you will be responsible for;

  • Ensuring Te Ao Māori principles are embedded across all aspects of the project;

  • Shaping and defining the project pathway, tools and resources required for success;

  • Facilitation of co-design and collaborator hui;

  • Turning data and research into meaningful insights;

  • Connecting with collaborators to share insights, learnings and success stories;

  • Creating opportunities to celebrate and share the success of those working in the food sector;

  • Engaging the wider community to participate in creating a food secure Waikato.

This will be a 12 month contractor role.

Flexible Working Options available, with our office based at Perry House, Hamilton CBD and work from home options.

Some travel may be required

Approx 20-25 hours per week.
