Aotearoa New Zealand SDG Summit Series

The Waikato Wellbeing project, along with the University of Waikato, Waikato Tainui and Te Pukenga are proud to jointly hosts of the 4th Aotearoa SDG Seminar series. The WWP is thrilled to be a key sponsor of the seminar series.

The theme for the 4th SDG Summit is: Māori, Indigenous and flax root community perspectives. The series follow the same format as previous series, with lead up webinars and a two-day in-person summit where ideas can be explored in far more depth, including through site visits and hands-on experiences across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Our first webinar was held on 30 August and explored Sustaining Te Taiao. Hosted by Malusea Monise from Wintec/Te Pukenga our guest speakers were: 

  • Manaaki Nepia (Acting General Manager Oranga, on behalf of Tukuroirangi Morgan, Chair of Te Arataura, Waikato-Tainui)
  • Tawera Nikau, chair Nikau Estate Trust, Te Riu o Waikato, Trustee for the League for Life Foundation and NZRL National Selector; and
  • Kowhai Olsen, trustee for Te Motu a Hiaroa Charitable Trust and Te Pua nga Maara Rangatahi Innovations

  • Sustaining He Tangata – 27 October, 6-7:30pm; and
  • Reimagining Economic Prosperity – 7 December, 6-7:30 pm

The two-day summit will be held 9-10 February 2023
