WWP Business Plan

The WWP Business Plan sets out our priority projects for the next 12 months. The plan follows the same general format as the 2024-25 plan and continues the same theory of change which we developed last year to describe how the WWP works, and what value looks like for us.

The plan builds on the review of the WWP completed earlier this year. A key conclusion of the review was that in order to further succeed, the WWP needs to scale ‘up and out’- engaging better with organisations who it can partner with and influence in terms of achieving the things which matter most to us. While we have a long way to go, you can see some examples of us doing this below.

The WWP was created using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While we sill strongly support these as a globally agreed roadmap for the future, we recognise that for many people wellbeing frameworks, community outcomes etc are unnecessarily complex. Our 2025-26 Business Plan quotes former Prime Minister Norm Kirk who said:

“Basically, there are four things that matter to people: they have to have somewhere to live, they have to have food to eat, they have to have clothing to wear, and they have to have something to hope for.”

Reflecting this and our commitment to focus further in fewer areas, we have continued our emphasis on:

a)     Rangatahi wellbeing- especially through Lots of Little Fires

b)     Food Security | Kai Motuhake –the Kai Challenge in partnership with GoEco

c)     Housing- working in Partnership with the Waikato Housing Initiative, with a focus on housing affordability, as well as new models for ethical landlords.

d)     Gender Equality and Equity – working with YWCA and all other wellbeing leaders to build on research undertaken in 2024/25

e)     Subjective wellbeing – completing the Hauraki Opportunity and sharing the insights with stakeholders in the Hauraki rohe and more widely.
