Once again, the year is quickly drawing to a close. For the WWP, it’s been an incredibly busy and productive year — dynamic, demanding, and full of progress. It’s also a significant moment for the programme as we near the end of our initial five-year timeframe and start looking ahead to what comes next.
You’ll find more detail on our next steps in this newsletter. Some important decisions about our future direction have now been made — these are summarised here — with more information to follow in early 2026. We’d really value your feedback and would like to hear what you think.
There are many people to thank for the efforts of the past 12 months. We have really valued the people and organisations we have partnered with on projects across 2025- there are too many to mention but thank you all so much for inviting us to be part of your journey. A particular thank you to our2025 programme funders WEL Energy Trust, Trust Waikato, MAS Foundation and FutureProof.
In particular, thank you to the 2025 WWP team: Joe Wilson, Amy Van Garderen, Hera Denton, Quanita Ali and Norm Hill. We’re also grateful to our previous Kaitiaki Advisory Board members — Justin Connolly, Rebecca Graham and Chris Williams — and to our current Transition Leadership Group members Delwyn Abraham, Mike Rolton, Don Scarlet, Marcel Manders and Karen Bennett for their guidance and support.
On behalf of everyone at the WWP, we wish you and your whānau a peaceful, restful and joyful festive season. We look forward to working alongside you again in 2026.
Kia tau te rangimārie
